What is Description.me?
Description.me replaces your static resume PDF with a living, shareable link. The same profile data can be displayed as a CV, portfolio, byline list, freelance rate card or media kit.
Who is it for?
Job seekers, designers, developers, writers, freelancers, journalists, creators — anyone who needs to show their work and be found by the right people.
Can I use my own custom slug?
Yes. Custom slugs like description.me/yourname are available on Pro plans. Free plans receive an auto-generated slug.
How do the five modes work?
You enter your profile once: experience, education, skills, projects, bylines, services, stats, etc. Then you choose which mode to publish. Free plans run one mode at a time. Pro plans can run multiple modes on the same link.
Can I import from LinkedIn?
Yes. Paste your LinkedIn profile URL or text and our AI structures the data into experience, education and skills. You can edit everything before publishing.
Do recruiters need to sign up to respond?
No. Recruiters can shortlist or pass with a one-line reason without creating an account. The feedback appears in your dashboard.
Can I export my profile as a PDF?
Yes. Every profile has a one-click PDF export that produces an ATS-friendly document for the forms that still require a file.
Can I add a video intro?
Yes. You can record a 60–120 second video directly in the browser. No uploads, no editing software needed.
How do recommendations work?
You request a reference by email. The referee confirms through a simple form. Only confirmed recommendations appear with a verified badge.
Is my data private?
You control visibility per profile version. You can password-protect a link, set it to expire, or keep it unpublished while you edit.
What analytics do I get?
Opens, referrers, and which sections held attention. You also get a weekly digest and notifications when a recruiter responds.
How does billing work?
We use Paddle for payments. Pro plans unlock custom slugs, multiple modes, multiple versions, deep analytics and password-protected links. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel from your billing page.
