Most people describe their work with a file. A file that was accurate the week it was exported, formatted for a printer nobody owns, and stripped of everything that made the work worth seeing. Description.me replaces that file with one address you keep for good.
Why we built it
Six tools for one story is five too many.
A designer keeps a resume, a portfolio site and a bio-link page. A writer keeps a clip doc and a pitch email full of URLs. A freelancer retypes the same rates in every thread. A creator rebuilds a media kit deck each quarter. All of it describes the same person, and all of it drifts out of date at a different speed.
We started Description.me on a simple idea: keep the facts in one place, and let the presentation change with the audience. Update a role once and it is correct on your CV, your hire me page and your media kit at the same moment. Send one address to a recruiter, an editor, a client or a follower, and each of them reads the version that makes sense to them.
What you get back is time, and something a file never gave you: proof that anyone looked, and a way for them to reply.
What we believe
One data set, many readings
You should not maintain a resume file, a portfolio site, a clip list, a rate card, a media kit and a bio-link page separately. Enter your work once. Choose how it is read.
A link, not an attachment
Attachments go stale the second you send them. A link stays current, opens on any device, needs no download and keeps working long after the conversation moves on.
Proof over adjectives
Work previews, verified recommendations from real referees, live project links and a short spoken intro carry more weight than a list of self-descriptions.
You own the numbers
Opens, sections read, who responded and when. You see what happens after you press send, instead of guessing.
Private when it needs to be
Password protect a link, set an expiry date, unpublish while you rewrite. Sharing your work should never mean losing control of it.

Description.me is built and run by a small team. We charge for the product instead of selling attention, so there are no ads on your profile and no data brokered behind your back. One plan, two billing periods, cancel from your dashboard in two clicks.
We ship in the open, read every support ticket ourselves and take feature requests seriously. If something on your profile is not working the way you expect, write to us and a person will answer.
